CORETX shortlisted for ITSMF service management team award

We were recently notified that CORETX’s service desk has been shortlisted in the ‘Service Management Team of the Year’ category in the ITSMF’s Professional Service Management Awards 2017. We’re absolutely delighted to be shortlisted, as it recognises the hard work the team has put in to developing what we do.  

Our service desk is targeted to provide consistently excellent customer service, from first point of contact and throughout the whole ticket lifecycle. That target has become embedded in our culture and appears in the way we structure ourselves and operate.

Important information regarding the current malware outbreak

The malware outbreak that is dominating headlines and affecting organisations across the world right now is a variation of common ransomware applications. This exploit is referred to as WannaCrypt or WannaCry.

Some of the attacks we are observing use common phishing tactics including malicious attachments in emails. Once the attachment is opened the attack spreads via open remote control sessions and legacy file connections (SMBv1).

CORETX acquisition of 365IT: rationale and what happens next

Our acquisition of 365IT at the start of April 2017 has led to a very busy couple of weeks, and I wanted to write a few words about the rationale behind the acquisition, as well as setting out at a high level what happens next. 

CORETX reaches higher at Cloud Expo Europe

We’re deep into the second day of Cloud Expo Europe, hosted within London’s huge ExCeL exhibition centre. We’re taking a little time out from the show to give you a flavour of what we’re focussing on.

Our message to visitors – and the organisers expect to see 18,000 people through their doors – is all about how we enable customers to focus on their business objectives and outcomes, rather than developing an IT and cloud strategy in-house to support their delivery.

CORETX apprentice assessment day success

CORETX was very pleased to welcome 14 candidates to its apprentice assessment day on Wednesday.

The session was very much about making sure candidates found out more about CORETX, our culture and what an apprenticeship with us involves, as well as CORETX staff assessing them for their suitability for the schemes.

Bournemouth data centre takes on the storm… and wins!

I’m really proud of the systems we’ve built at our Bournemouth data centre. And on one specific day in September this year, I could not have been prouder.

The day started with an important visitor. It was audit day and I was showing the auditor around the facility. We have an excellent reputation for passing our audits at CORETX but I always feel a little background nervousness about these proceedings.

CORETX donate kit to Sure24 orphanage in Kenya for second year running

In April of 2015, CORETX was approached by one of our employees, Tolulope Obassa, who wanted our support with her charity group “Flowing Rivers” who were working in Nakuru, Kenya at the Sure24 Orphanage.

CORETX donated stationary, laptops and mobile phones to Flowing Rivers charity and assisted in fundraising to enable Tolulupe to take the material to help build the schools in Nakuru.
